The event was attended by international dignitaries and high-level military delegations from Portugal, Australia, Malaysia, and the Philippines, serving as a powerful symbol of military solidarity and regional partnership.
A highlight of the evening was the official launch of the book “Falur Nia Lian” (Falur’s Voice), authored by the current Chief of Staff of the F-FDTL, Lieutenant General Domingos Raul “Falur Rate Laek.”
The President praised the work as an essential historical record of the war journey, designed to educate and inspire the new generation of Timorese about the nation’s past.
During his address, the Head of State also made a symbolic gesture of support by presenting an envelope of contribution to the newly established military initiatives.
Furthering the institutional development of the forces, the President took office as the Honorary President of the newly activated Association of F-FDTL Military Personnel for a three-year term. His Principal Political Advisor, General (Ret.)
Lere Anan Timur, described the association as a “common home” dedicated to the welfare of both active soldiers and veterans.
President Ramos-Horta concluded by emphasizing that the F-FDTL’s successful transition into a professional institution that respects the Constitution and remains non-political is the greatest achievement of the past 25 years, ensuring Timor-Leste’s democratic stability and peace.
