DILI, 03 february 2026 (TATOLI) – Nearly 11,000 candidates are eligible to undergo tough medical examination in which those with any sexually transmitted diseases will be dropped out of the course.
A total of 10,597 applicants have progressed to medical examination after passing written tests on general knowledge and skills, psychological exams and interviews.
PNTL’s Recruitment Committee Spokesperson, António da Luz, said the list of successful candidates will be announced on wednesday, february 04, 2026.
He said that the medical test dates have not yet been confirmed.
Luz urged successful candidates not to switch off their mobile phones, as the committee will contact them to inform them of the date of the medical tests.
When asked what would happen if the number of candidates eligible for medical testing exceeds the 400 available positions, Luz said final selections would be made according to quotas allocated to each municipality.
He also reminded that the earlier rule setting aside 20% of the positions for children of veterans and another 20% for children of police officers was cancelled after the court ruled the quotas unconstitutional.
