DILI, 24 february 2026 (TATOLI) – TradeInvest Timor-Leste, in collaboration with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MCI), introduced the “Made in Timor-Leste” e-commerce platform to national exporters.
The joint initiative, led by TradeInvest’s Export Promotion Directorate (DPE), brought together national exporters and producers for a socialisation session and on-site account registration, enabling businesses to begin promoting and commercialising their goods through digital channels.
The “Made in Timor-Leste” platform, developed by MCI, is a government digital marketplace designed to showcase local products and create new opportunities for commercialisation and export growth.
Through the collaboration, TradeInvest facilitated its exporter clients in accessing and effectively using the platform as a strategic tool to enhance their market reach.
The session also introduced the national e-commerce policy framework and highlighted the platform’s importance for TradeInvest-supported enterprises. Participants were guided through account creation and received practical support to start using the system immediately.
In his opening remarks, the Deputy Executive Director of TradeInvest Timor-Leste, Duilio Marino Gusmão Araújo da Silva, emphasized the relevance of this initiative for national producers and exporters. He encouraged local enterprises to actively engage in the session, carefully follow the technical presentation delivered by the MCI team, and fully utilize the opportunity to register and maximize the platform’s benefits.
“In today’s era of globalization, digital platforms have become strategic instruments for promoting and commercializing our local products,” he said.
During the technical presentation, the MCI team outlined the national e-commerce policy, explained the platform’s key features, and guided participants through the registration process.
Exporters and local producers were able to create their accounts directly at the venue and raise questions regarding the use of the platform for product promotion and export expansion.
TradeInvest Timor-Leste reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening collaboration with MCI and other relevant partners to enhance the capacity of national exporters and promote “Made in Timor-Leste” products in international markets through innovative digital solutions.
