DILI, 26 March 2026 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste on Wednesday welcomed a high-level delegation from ASEAN, ADB, and Cambodia to attend a two-day dialogue aimed at advancing the country’s integration into ASEAN and aligning it with national development priorities.
Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry Augusto Júnior Trindade, in his capacity as Timor-Leste’s Senior Economic Officials Meeting (SEOM) leader, received the delegation at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Dili.
The delegation includes ASEAN Deputy Secretary-General for the Economic Community, H.E. Satvinder Singh, Asian Development Bank (ADB) Vice President for East Asia, South-East Asia and the Pacific, Scott Morris, and Cambodian Ministry of Commerce Secretary of State Rithi Pich.
The officials are in Timor-Leste to participate in the High-Level Dialogue titled “Timor-Leste in ASEAN: Advancing the National Development Goals through Regional Integration.”
The event, scheduled to take place over two days at the Palm Springs Hotel in Dili, brings together representatives from government ministries, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Timor-Leste, and resident ambassadors of ASEAN member states.
The dialogue is expected to help strengthen Timor-Leste’s integration into the bloc while promoting policies that support sustainable economic growth and development.
