DILI, 24 April 2026 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste’s Deputy Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay attended the Third High-Level Conference of the Forum on Global Action for Shared Development in China.
The conference was held in Beijing from April 21 to 22 under the theme “Action-Oriented: Building a Global Community of Development for All.”
Vice-Prime Minister Francisco Kalbuadi Lay and Mozambican President Daniel Francisco Chapo were among the leaders who delivered remarks at the opening ceremony.
Government officials, representatives of international organisations and experts from around the world gathered to discuss progress under the Global Development Initiative (GDI) and explore ways to strengthen international cooperation.
During the meeting, participants reviewed progress, shared experience and explored future cooperation.
People’s Daily Online reported that participants agreed GDI cooperation would continue to deepen, delivering greater prosperity, stability and shared growth in the years ahead.
In his remarks during the meeting with foreign participants, Chinese Vice President Han Zheng reaffirmed China’s commitment to working with all parties to advance a global community of shared development.
Han, as cited by Xinhua, said China will take the conference as an opportunity to build wider consensus with all parties, stay committed to action-oriented approaches, scale up investment in global development cooperation, advance cooperation in key areas, and promote green and sustainable development, allowing the people to benefit more from the fruits of development and advancing a global community of shared development.
Chinese Foreign Minister said in his remarks that China is ready to work with all parties to use the implementation of the GDI as a platform to pool extensive development resources, build a solid development foundation, adhere to the path of peaceful development, foster an open environment for development, and make steady progress toward the lofty goal of building a community with a shared future for humanity.
He added that China will take active actions, deepen cooperation, always remain a promoter and contributor to global development, and work with all parties to break new ground in global development through concrete actions.
