DÍLI, 20 July 2026 (TATOLI) – Vice Minister of Commerce and Industry and SEOM Lead of Timor-Leste, Augusto Júnior Trindade, today welcomed the SEOM delegation from Thailand at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport.
The delegation is led by Mr. Dhadchyarbhon Abhimontejbud, Deputy Director-General of the Department of Trade Negotiations and SEOM Lead of Thailand.
The official visit, taking place from 20 to 24 July 2026, aims to strengthen bilateral cooperation and promote knowledge sharing on the implementation of the ATIGA Upgrade and the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP).
The visit is expected to enhance Timor-Leste’s institutional capacity and support its ongoing efforts toward ASEAN economic integration.
Timor-Leste and Thailand have enjoyed close and cordial relations since Timor-Leste’s independence, spurred in part by Thailand’s development diplomacy through technical cooperation via the Thailand International Cooperation Agency (TICA).
Thailand has supported Timor-Leste’s development through scholarship programmes, royal projects, and assistance during the country’s preparations for joining ASEAN as a full member last year.
