DÍLI, 21 July 2026 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Bendito dos Santos Freitas, met his Cambodian counterpart, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Prak Sokhonn, on the sidelines of the 59th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting (AMM), the Post-Ministerial Conferences and related meetings in Manila.
The ministers reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the longstanding bilateral partnership between Timor-Leste and Cambodia and expanding cooperation on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
They pledged to work more closely in promoting ASEAN unity, regional stability and sustainable development, underscoring their shared commitment to supporting ASEAN’s regional integration agenda.
Timor-Leste and Cambodia have overcome similar historical challenges in building peaceful and democratic societies, fostering mutual understanding and closer collaboration between the two countries.
