Timor-Leste youth invited to apply for ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum in Singapore

DILI, 11 August 2026 (TATOLI) — Young people from Timor-Leste and other ASEAN member states, as well as Australia, are being invited to apply for the 2026 ASEAN-Australia Young Leaders Forum (AAYLF) in Singapore.
The three-day forum will bring together 30 young leaders aged 18 to 29 to strengthen leadership skills, deepen understanding of ASEAN-Australia relations and build connections among emerging leaders across the region.
Organisers are seeking applicants with innovative ideas and an interest in social impact and entrepreneurship, as well as those committed to strengthening ties between ASEAN and Australia.
Applicants should also demonstrate an interest in the cultures, challenges and opportunities of ASEAN and Australia, along with proven leadership in their communities.
The 2026 forum will focus on oceans and the maritime domain, while providing participants with opportunities to exchange ideas, develop leadership skills and strengthen regional cooperation.
The programme will begin with arrivals and hotel check-in on November 26, followed by the forum from November 27 to 29. Delegates will check out and depart Singapore on November 30.
Selected delegates are required to pay a forum fee of A$180 to secure their places and must participate fully in the programme.
Applications close at 11:59 p.m. Singapore Standard Time (GMT+8) on August 20, 2026.
The AAYLF aims to connect and develop the next generation of leaders from ASEAN and Australia while promoting greater understanding of regional relations and stronger people-to-people links.
