Indonesia’s Cooperatives Minister invited to attend Díli Regional Cooperative Conference 2026

DÍLI, 24 August 2026 (TATOLI) — Timor-Leste has invited Indonesia’s Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono to attend the Dili Regional Cooperative Conference and Ministerial Dialogue 2026, as the two countries seek to deepen cooperation in the cooperative sector.

The conference is scheduled to take place from October 1–4, 2026, at the Palm Spring Hotel in Dili under the theme “Empowering Communities, Connecting Nations.”

The invitation was delivered by Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to Indonesia, Roberto Sarmento de Oliveira Soares, during a courtesy call on Minister Juliantono in Jakarta on Monday.

The invitation came from Timor-Leste’s Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Minister of Tourism and Environment, Francisco Kalbuadi Lay.

The two sides also discussed the exchange of information on cooperative development and opportunities to share knowledge and experience.

The discussions are expected to help strengthen cooperation and partnerships between Timor-Leste and Indonesia, particularly in developing the cooperative sector.

Minister Ferry expressed his appreciation for the invitation and indicated that he would positively consider attending.

He noted that the visit could further strengthen friendship and cooperation between the two countries.

Ambassador Soares conveyed his appreciation to Minister Ferry for the constructive exchange of views on strengthening bilateral collaboration, particularly in the field of cooperatives.
