DILI, 02 September 2020 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste’s partners of International non-government organisations have announced the foods supplies and other construction materials which will be supplied to the Civil Protection Secretary (SEPS) on Tuesday, September 1.
These International organisations are Oxford Committee for Famine Relief (Oxfam), Australian Agency for International Development (AusAid) and World Vision.
All the construction materials are provided by the two international organisations, namely Oxfam and AusAID while world vision offers assistance with food.
These supports were given directly by the Representative of Oxfam in Timor-Leste Jorge da Silva, Director of World Vision to Timor-Leste, Migena Shulla and the Representative of AusAid, to SEPS secretary, Joaquim Gusmão and the Director-General from SEPS, Sup. Ismael Babo and other participants from SEPS, at Caicoli, Dili.
The construction materials are 5500 pieces of Zinc, 2.750 tons of cement, 1,100 nails, 5500 sheets of corrugated iron for tin roofs, 1100 of 8mm Round Steel Bar CQ, 1.320 of 10mm of Steel bar and 220 wires.
Moreover, the foods prepared by World Vision is 540 tonnes of rice, 240 boxes of noodles, 140 packs of long-life milk, 100 boxes of canned fish (sardine), 24 packets of arrows biscuits, 140 quantities of Khong guan biscuit, 540 2-litre amount of cooking oil.
The SEPS Minister, Joaquim Gusmão said these materials would be given to the Department that is responsible for Natural disaster aid who will distribute it to communities who are facing the effects of disasters.
