DÍLI, October 8, 2020 (TATOLI) – The Southern Cross University of Australia intends to provide the scholarship for Timorese university students in different areas.
“This was the conclusion reached at the meeting held between the Timor-Leste delegation, composed of the team of the Timor-Leste Embassy in Canberra and the Consulate General of Sydney,” said the Consul-General of Timor-Leste in the State of New York, South Wales, Luciano Romano da Conceição, to Tatoli via telephone.
The Southern Cross institution is a state university, located in Lismore, in the State of New South Wales, and currently has about 15,000 students distributed across the countries they are undergraduate, graduate, doctoral and postdoctoral courses.
Professor Amanda Reichelt-Brushett, for her part, expressed satisfaction at receiving the delegation from Timor-Leste and, at the same time, wish to have a soon close cooperation with Timorese University.
“We are delighted to welcome the East Timorese delegation and we hope that we will soon be able to begin solid cooperation with Timorese universities,” said Amanda Reichelt-Brushett, Full Professor in Marine Sciences at the Faculty of Environmental Sciences and Engineering, and Vice -President of the Society of Environmental Toxicology and Chemestry Asia-Pacific.
Mr. Conceição stated that, he intends to contact the university of Timor-Leste to be able to start the cooperation between Australian University and Timorese University institutions.
