DILI, 26 april 2020 (TATOLI)– Timor’s only confirmed Covid-19 patient from Pakistan is continued to recover from the illness, according to the Coordinator of COVID-19 Odete da Silva Viegas.
The patient tested positive for the highly-contagious virus 30 days ago, and has remained in isolation under medical care.
The Covid-19 coordinator, Dr Odete Viegas said the patient’s signs are now negative.
“There is no more fever and the laboratory test is negative, today we will announced to public that the patient is recovered and he will be discharged ,” Dr Viegas told reporters on Monday (26/010/020).
The 36 years old Pakistanish travelled from Dubai on September 25, 2020 with Emirate Airlines arrived in Kuala Lumpur Malaysia at 26 of September and continue to Timor-Leste on September 27.
the patient traveled along with 150 passengers from Malaysia to Timor-Leste.
The patient was auto-quarantining at Beach Garden Hotel together with 23 others for the past 13 days, however with this confirmed case, they will have an additional 14 days of quarantine for other 22 of them.
the patient started to show symptoms of COVID-19 during the initial five days of his quarantine, with is coughing, fever and diarrhea.
The patient was confirmed after the team conduct two tests with the patients and identified that the patient is positive to COVID-19.
Ms Viegas asked the local communities and local authorities specially Bobonaro, Covalima and Oe-Cusse to control citizens by crossing the borders illegally.
