coronavirus: Two Timorese tested positive

DILI, 22 december 2020 (TATOLI)– Timor-Leste has recorded another positive caseS of COVID-19, the patient are  Timorese citizen from Indonesia.

“We have detected a new case of COVID19, these new cases were detected in a 43-year-old Timorese citizen from Denpasar [Bali, Indonesia], who arrived in Timor-Leste on december 8, from Bali to Kupan with Batik air and another 24 years old Timorese from Malang Indonesia, who arrived in Timor-Leste on december 8, from Malang to Kupang with Lion flight,” Minister of Health Odete Maria Freitas Belo said at the press conference.

Ms. Belo also stated that the patient was transferred by a team from the Ministry of Health to an isolation centre in Vera Cruz, Dili after the results were found.

“The Timorese citizens with COVID-19 were staying in mandatory quarantine at a Tasi Tolu, along with 186 other people. two has tested positive whilst the other 186  presented negative results for COVID-19,” she said.

She said the covid-19 team was conducted the test to the patients on december 16 and the patients were confirmed positive on december 22, 2020.
