DILI,21 january 2021 (TATOLI)— The Vice Prime Minister and the Minister for Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Armanda Berta dos Santos said her commission is set to prepare for the implementation of the vaccine for covid-19.
Armanda Berta said, during the council meeting, the government has not made any decision regarding this issue, thus she request to the entire population to continue await the decision from the Council of Ministers ”, Armanda Berta said.
“The intern ministerial commission has conducted the first meeting regarding the performance of the strategically plan for the AstraZeneca vaccine for COVID-19, that will be imported to Timor-Leste,” she said.
The team will make the plan for the citizens or groups to receive the coronavirus vaccine starting on May.
“We are yet to decide the priority group that would be administered the AstraZeneca vaccine in the first phase, stressing that the decision should come out of the inter ministerial meeting and the Council of Ministers,” she said.
Berta said when the decision is made by the commission; the issue will be forwarded to the Council of Minister for the approval and for the implementation.
The team is composed of Vice Prime Minister and the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Inclusion, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Ministry of Communication and Social and Ministry of Transport and Communication.
