Coronavirus updates: Five people test positive to covid-19 and two people are discharged from Isolated

DILI, 2 february, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timor-Leste records five foreign citizens positive to covid-19 and have been transferred to the isolation center.

According to the Coordinator of COVID-19, health Executive Comission, Odete Viegas, the patients traveled from Tanzania on january 17 arriving in Timor-Leste on january 20 with Malaysian Airlines.

“These patients have been having self-quarantined at Lorenso Compound, Metiaut Dili, while the patients undergoing the tests on january 29 with the results indicated the patients were positives to covid-19,” Ms Viegas said at the press conference held in Ministry of Health office, Caicoli Dili.

At same day, two patients who were isolated at the Vera Cruz are discharged from the isolation since the twice tests results indicated both patients were negatives to covid-19.

“The two discharged patients one is 16 years old male another one is 29 years old famale, were isolated on 23 and 24 of january,” she said.

With the new five confirm cases, brings the country’s active cases to 22 with 54 have been recovery. Following the data recorded from the Health Authority, 19,223 have been tested 19,084 showing negative results while 64 people are waiting for their results.

Currently 412 people are in mandatory quarantine and 7,513 people have been completing their 14 days of quarantine.
