DILI, March 8, 2021 (TATOLI) – Timorese Government approved the Vaccination plan against the covid-19, the PCM, Fidelis Magalhães statement to the journalist.
The approval proposal was presented by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Social Solidarity and Inclusion (MSSI), Armanda Berta dos Santos, and by the Inter-ministerial Commission for the Elaboration and Coordination of the Execution of the Vaccination Plan against covid-19.
Magalhães highlighted the statement cited in the roadmap presented by the Commission, that the first 33,600 dozes of the vaccines are expected to arrive in Timor-Leste in the fourth week of March 2021 and that the launch of the first vaccination phase will start in the second week of April.
He added that all residents over 18 are expected to be vaccinated by the end of 2021. The vaccination of those under 18 is expected to be carried out in 2022, but the planning is depending on the technical recommendation from the World Health Organization (WHO).
“Planning and preparation activities for the implementation of the vaccination plan are underway, such as the preparation of storage conditions and the training of teams,” he said.
