DILI, 19 march, 2021 (TATOLI) – Ministry of Health records 23 additional cases of the new coronavirus, of the number, 22 are from Dili municipaity one from Baucau.
The 23 cases composed of eight men and 15 women, with the age range between 10 and 14 years old and the others between 18 and 60 years old.
The Coordinator of Integrated Crisis Management Center (CIGC), Rui de Araújo, said one of these patients has present with the symptom while the rests are asymptomatic.
“The Authority has been conducting the laboratory test to 543 samples since yesterday,” Araujo said.
From the sample tests indicating that three people are positives related to the Health Profesional from the Hemodialysis Unit from the National Hospital also belong to the cluster at 05 area São Miguel, Comoro Village.
Other five cases were identified as they have the close contacts with the health professionals at the Neonatal and Emergency Obstetric Care Unit, at the same time the team also confirmed seven cases in Terra Santa village, BTN III, and Madohi village.
However, six more infected are the contacts of the outbreak in the Maucocomate, Becora Village of the Administrative Post of Cristo Rei and one case also in Auhun, Becora village, is the contact of an infected person of the outbreak in the HNGV
The active cases detected in Dili since March 7 have risen to 117 and there are 30 outbreaks recorded by the authority.
In addition to this, the Authority in Baucau also detected one more active case. The infected person lives in Lamegua Village, of Baucau city. While the person address in Dili is at the Santa Cruz village, of 25 Abril area. the infected person traveled to Baucau on march 5th. Thus, the total cases recorded in Baucau is 8 while Viqueque municipality the number of the cases remain three.
Araújo said, with regards to the increasing of the number 0f covid cases in Dili, Baucau and Viqueque, Authority decides to adopt additional measures to prevent the risk of spreading of the virus to other municipalities.
Leaving the capital will only be allowed for reasons of public safety or health, humanitarian assistance, maintenance of the public supply system, or activities of public interest.
“The public authorities will authorize the exit of the capital only for these exceptional reasons, in accordance with the statement underlined in the resolution number 15/2021.”, He said.
