US Ambassador meets PM Taur discuss the Baucau Airport rehabilitation

United States (US) ambassador to Timor-Leste, Kevin Blackstone

DILI, 24 july 2021 (TATOLI)- The Ambassador of United State of America, Charles Kevin Blackstone  Meets Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak to discuss for the proposal of Baucau Airport rehabilitation.

The Prime Minister Taur welcomes the lists that ambassador of United State of America propose and result the satisfactory discussion.

“The aims of this meeting with PM Taur to present the propose that offers by US to support the government of Timor-Leste for the rehabilitation of civic aviation in Baucau Airport,” said the Ambassador of United States of America, Charles Kevin Black Stone to TATOLI Agency, in Farol, this friday.

He added that the support is included of airport fences to ensure the safety landing of planes in the airport.

The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak is recommending to relevant ministerial composed of the council minister, Minister Transport and Telecommunication, Minister of Interior and Aviation civic authority and among others.

US will be provided security project and it is including established new fences around Baucau Airport and offers vehicles to ensure the reactivate the operational system in this airport.

The others project included in this list are civic and security components. The US offers airplane for Timor-Leste Force (FFDTL) to ensure the control in Timor Sea with aims to detect illegal fishing.

Mr. Blackstone said that the list proposes also to build proper humbler for the aircraft marks 203 and warehouses for humanitarian assistance supply and it would be operated by civic protection.

The support is provided for the civic aviation on the operation necessary composed of night light for Baucau and Dili Airport.

US also will support the Civic Aviation of Timor-Leste (CATL), PNTL, Minister of Commination and Transportation the capacity building based on their preference.

The Ambassador of United States of America offers the civic protection to build a emergency operation center in Dili with amount of one million dollar.
