TIC concludes training on Interconnecting Networks Concepts for Inter-Ministerial IT Staff

DILI, 24 july 2021 (TATOLI) – The Information and Communication Technology Agency I.P. (TIC) concludes a 10-day training on Interconnecting Networks Concepts and Configuration of Networks Devices for the IT Staff members of the government Inter-Ministerial institutions.

TIC’s Executive Director, Roberto Caetano de Sousa Vicente said that 24 IT staff members from 16 State institutions in Timor-Leste at least gained enough knowledge and skills during the 10-day training which is important to improve network performance at their institutions.

“These IT staff members had gained knowledge on interconnecting networks concepts and configuration of networks devices, and they will be able to manage the network system in their institution, including configuration, design, and securing the network system,” Vicente made the comments during the closing ceremony of the training at the Police Academic Training Centre in Comoro, Dili, today.

He said in December, this year, TIC will implement training on application development: “We will again invite the Inter-Ministerial IT Staff to attend the training to increase their knowledge on application development”.

At the same place, Eligio Antonio Tilman Ximenes, an IT staff member from Betano Polytechnic Institute (IPB), said that during the 10-day training, they learned the basic concepts of interconnecting networks.

“We learned about connecting the internet between computers and also network interconnection devices. Of Course, I will implement what I have learned from this training in my workplace,” Ximenes said.
