DILI, 29 july 2021 (TATOLI) – Timorese Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak called on all development partners to contribute to the country’s economic recovery and its economic growth.
“I invite national and international development partners to discuss the necessary measures to jointly overcome all the negative effects on the April floods and the health crisis caused by covid-19, which have negatively affected the socio-economic sector. Therefore, I ask the development partners to join all efforts, contributing to the recovery and growth of the country’s economy”, said Taur Matan Ruak, in his speech, during the meeting with the development partners, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation (MNEC).
According to Taur Matan Ruak, the meeting was an update on the Government’s “commitment and determination” to fulfill the Sustainable Development Goals, namely combating poverty, hunger, and malnutrition, as well as promoting the well-being and socioeconomics of the Timorese community.
The Timorese Chief Executive added that the common vision of developing “a more resilient, sustainable, tolerant and peaceful Timor-Leste” was also reaffirmed in the debate.
Finally, Taur Matan Ruak asked everyone to “unite and desire a modern and prosperous Timor-Leste, to be a richer, stronger and more secure country”.
