DILI, 26 august 2021 (TATOLI)-The Entrepreneurship and Employment for Women and Youth (SEEWAY) offered the second phase of the Youth Internship Program (YIP) for 30 young Timorese.
UNDP’s SEEWAY Project Manager, Francelino Guterres said that the YIP program was designed by UNDP through the SEEWAY project to provide a three-month internship opportunity for the university graduates to gain work experience from institutions related to their academic background.
“We are pleased to announce internship opportunities for new graduates. This program will have 50% female internships and persons with disabilities to candidates themselves,” UNDP’s SEEWAY Project Manager Francelino told TATOLI today in Knua Juventude Pateo.
The aim of the internship program is offered to young people to gain job experience in the organization. It is also helping to develop young people’s knowledge and skills based on specific functions under the guidance and mentor control during the internship period.
He emphasized that this internship program is provided for young university graduates in the fields of agriculture, management economics, hospitality, communications, mechanics, civil engineering, architecture, and petroleum.
He also said that 13 SEEWAY partners accept for young people to do internships in their offices such as Quinta Portugal, Fitun Foun, Plan International, BNCTL, AIBA, Caltech, Ev2tl, Gota, Community Housing, Bollore, Kompana Fornesedor Oleo, JL Villa, and CRS.
The Youth Internship Program is facilitated by SEFOPE and UNDP and coordinated with the Minister of Higher Education Science and Culture (MHESC) to send the recent graduates to private and public organizations to develop their employment skills to access the job opportunity.
