COVID: AHDMTL office remain closed

DILI, 03 september 2021 (TATOLI)-The Director of the Association of Vision Impairment (AHDMTL), Gaspar Anfoso said as the Government enforced lock-downs to address the spread of COVID-19 all the activities in AHDMTL have been stopped. 

“AHDMTL is worried as all the working program in AHMTL is running based on the action plan and all the work have to be reported to the donors following the action plan,” Said Afonso via Phone call with TATOLI today.

He explained that currently, all AHDMTL office is closed and limited staff gathering to prevent the spread of the Virus.

“Our office is closed to prevent crowds, AHDMTL has 63 staff meanwhile we also run 3 general programs such as the Advocacy Program, Social Inclusive Research and Education which are further divided into several divisions such as Culture program, Capacity building program consisting of non-formal education such as Braille training, Portuguese language course training, English and other programs,” He said.

Afonso added that With the increase in the number of COVID-19 and the implementation of the home confinement measure in Dili has to hamper all these activities: “We hope that the government will consider complaints from the population, including People with Disabilities to prevent further implementation of COVID-19 restriction,” said Afonso
