DILI, 14 september 2021 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Culture (MESSK) will resume the face-to-face teaching and learning of the universities this week, following the recommendations of the Ministry of Health, said Longuinhos dos Santos, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Culture.
Minister Santos said MESSK has received a permission letter from the Ministry of Health (MoH), which allowed MESSK to reopen physical classes of the higher education institutions across the country.
“I have received the Health Ministry’s permission letter and obviously, within this week the lectures and tutorials of universities across the country will be resumed,” Santos told reporters at the Ministry of Finance, in Dili, monday.
Santos informed that after receiving the letter from MoH, MESSK was immediately elaborated a circular letter to be sent out to all universities.
“We will send out the letters to all universities to inform them regarding the resumption of face-to-face learning. Thus, all faculty staff, university lecturers, and students are required to follow the Covid-19 Safety and Guidelines recommended by MoH and WHO to resume the classes,” he said.
He added MESSK will establish a team to monitor the teaching and learning activities to ensure all universities obeys the Covid-19 regulations.
In addition, the Minister of Health, Odete Maria Freitas Belo had called on all students to keep following the Covid-19 Safety and Guidelines to combat the spread of the Covid-19.
