SEFOPE supports 34 local entrepreneurs running businesses

DILI, 21 september 2021 (TATOLI)-The Secretariat of State for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE) is signed the agreements with 34 entrepreneurs to support them running their businesses.

State Secretary for Vocational Training and Employment (SEFOPE), Alarico do Rosario explained that the grant for small entrepreneurs is provided under the program to support local entrepreneurs in running their business and even offers an opportunity for self-employed: “In the initial of this program, SEFOPE provides supports to 34 small entrepreneurs,” 

“This program has been existed at this stage therefore we continue to implement this program for the eligible local entrepreneurs to run their businesses. however, those who wish to apply will be selected based on their proposal,” Rosario told reporters at SEFOPE in Caicoli today.

This time SEFOPE together with the National Commission of Evaluation for Technical Proposal (NTPE) has selected 46 entrepreneurs to be awarded funds for running their businesses.

Thus, in the first period, the fund was allocated to 34 entrepreneurs with the amount of $389,702.81, while the 12 entrepreneurs are expected for the second phase in October. These entrepreneurs will open businesses in various areas such as rental, furniture, fisheries, agriculture, animal husbandry, construction, and others.

At the same time, He encourages other groups of entrepreneurs who were not qualified for this program saying do not feel desperate there will be another chance for next year, while the qualified group should work very hard and demonstrate the responsibility of the management of their businesses.

“An entrepreneur should develop their mentality, including personal interest in the business because these are contributed to the advantage or revenue or disadvantage of the businesses,” He said.

The Director of SEFOPE, PAUL Alves said The Entrepreneurship program for this year will directly assist by the Commission of Anti-Corruption (ACC).

“CAC will monitor the use of the fund, it requires to change the system. For the preview year, might be able to misuse the fund for other purposes however for this year, the fund must be used in the right way with excellent results,” he said.

Alves said the purpose of this program is to help the entrepreneurs running their businesses at the same time to create job opportunities for other people, to reach the Government politics open the job opportunity for the unemployed. 

The Businessman Manuel da Costa Mender, from Ainaro Municipality, said thanked the government’s SEFOPE for providing the opportunity to expand his business in coffee production.

“I will responsible for the support offered to me. Today I receive $2,300 from SEFOPE to help me run my business, I promised to develop my business by using this money at the same time offers job opportunities for others,” he said.
