DILI, 13 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded nine new COVID-19 cases, 38 recoveries, and the active cases dropped to 133, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, four new cases were detected in Covalima, three in Viqueque, and two in Dili.
Araujo said 22 percent of the new cases are fully vaccinated. These nine new cases include three men and six women.
All of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, adding 55.5 percent were symptomatic.
There are 14 people with COVID-19 in hospital and two of those are in critical condition, with a patient on a ventilator.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 211 PCR tests, including 18 through random screening, 188 for the international travel authorization, and five in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.690 cases, 19.438 recoveries, and 119 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 65.5 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 41.6 percent have been fully vaccinated.
