DILI, 13 october 2021 (TATOLI) – The Minister of Health, Odete Maria Freitas Belo, today, presented the results of the vaccination campaign to the Council of Ministers.
“During this period, Government Members went to all municipalities to spread information about COVID-19 vaccine and also to sensitize the population regarding the importance of vaccination,” said Belo in a statement.
A total of 78,165 doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered since the start of the campaign with the participation of the members of the government, representing a 17% increase in the percentage of vaccination rate nationwide.
Bobonaro has administered the highest percentage of COVID-19 vaccines in the past two weeks, with an increase of 303 percent. From September 30 to October 10, 7487 people in Bobonaro were vaccinated. Followed by Baucau with more than 5286 doses were administered. Ermera experienced an increase of 97% compared to the week before the start of the vaccination campaign by the members of the government, with 3885 people being vaccinated.
The first batch of the Pfizer vaccines will arrive in Timor-Leste on October 16, which will be used in children from 12 to 17 years of age.
The Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK) said of the 754.864 eligible groups, 65.5 percent had received at least one dose of the Covid-19 vaccine, including 41.6 percent who have been fully vaccinated by AstraZeneca and Sinovac.
