USAID encourage Timorese Government to implement the P5 in the development of tourism

DILI, 14 october 2021 ( TATOLI)Chief of Party of USAID’s Tourism For All Project in Timor-Leste, Peter Semone, said Timor-Leste’s Government should implement the P5 to significantly develop the Tourism in Timor-Leste and attract tourism to visit Timor-Leste.

“The P5 is Priority, Prosperity, Protection, Partnership, and People. I believe with the implementation of the P5 by the Government in the future, the tourism of Timor-Leste will move significantly and although it is simple it is meaningful,” Peter Semone commented after the distribution of the recognition certificate to the Championship of Tourism in Timor Plaza well-known shopping center, Today.

Semona highlighted priority as the way the Government should focus on formulating what to develop to attract tourists to visit Timor-Leste.

Besides the Prosperity talk about the business,” All Timorese people should know the business and develop their capacity how to attract tourist to buy their products, visit historical tourism, religious tourism and Timor – Leste’s government and its population will make money and then develop tourism better in the future,

Protection, the Government must have the rule to preserve various natural resources, such as forests, water well, wild animal, and other relevant natural sources.

Partnership, Government should establish cooperation and collaboration with the relevant institution and other partnerships to run the campaign and the tourism program to develop Timor-Leste’s Tourism.

Lastly, The Government must Involve People. The involvement of people in the development of Timor-Leste tourism is important, particularly those who contribute to the development of Tourism.

Semone added the USAID project of Tourism for all is aims to help the government and youths of Timor-Leste to recognize the important development of sustainable tourism of Timor – Leste in the future.

At the same place, the Director of Permatil Agro-Forestry Ego Lemos thanked the United States Government through USAID in Timor-Leste for the recognition offered to the people who provided the contribution in the tourism sector and successfully attract the tourist visitors to visit Timor-Leste.
