DILI, 19 october 2021 (TATOLI) – In the past 24 hours, Timor-Leste recorded one more death, five new cases, 29 recoveries, and the active cases drop to 73, said Rui Maria de Araujo, the Coordinator of the Integrated Crisis Management Center (SIJK).
According to today’s figure, four of the new cases were detected in Dili and one was identified in Bobonaro municipality.
Araujo said 80 percent of today’s cases were symptomatic, adding all of the five cases are unvaccinated.
Three of the new cases were between the ages of 12 and 59, including a case under 20 and an elderly person over 60. These new cases include three men and two women.
There are nine people with COVID-19 in hospital and one of those is in critical condition, who is on a ventilator.
SIJK, today recorded another death of Covid-19.
A man aged in his 30s from Covalima municipality died yesterday at around 8.40pm after five days of intensive treatment at the Lahanne Isolation Center in Dili.
In the past 24 hours, the National Health Laboratory (LNS) has performed 68 PCR tests, including three through sentinel surveillance, 21 via random screening, 39 for the international travel authorization, and five in quarantines.
The SIJK kept calling on communities to practice the health and safety guidelines recommended by the Ministry of Health (MoH) and the WHO to continue combating the spread of the virus.
Since Timor-Leste’s outbreak began in April 2020, the country has recorded 19.730 cases, 19.537 recoveries, and 120 deaths.
In Timor-Leste, of the 754.864 eligible groups, 68.3 percent had received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, of which 43.9 percent have been fully vaccinated.
