Tomorrow, CNE to commence data verification for the Presidential Election
DILI, 21 march 2022 (TATOLI)- National Commission of Election (CNE) will commence the data verification for the presidential election tomorrow.
The president of CNE, José Agostinho da Costa Belo, said data submission to the National Election Commission is in the process.
“The data counting and collecting from all municipalities have almost finished. The data submission is in the process. Today, all municipalities are transporting data,” The president of CNE, José Belo told reporters at a press conference in CNE meeting room, this monday.
The process of bulletin submission from 13 municipalities is commencing now. Some municipalities have submitted their data and the others are still on their way to the CNE office.
He added that due to the very far distance the bulletin data will arrive tomorrow from the special administration zone, Oe-cusse Ambeno.
The CNE team will verify the original bulletin data from all municipalities to ensure all data is correct and adequate.
The verification process must begin tomorrow and ensure that other municipality data can be submitted today.
More than 10.000 invalided votes are needed for data improvement. It is regarding the National Parliament’s requirement, after making any change of regulation. CNE is required to improve any mistake during the counting process.
The National Parliament offered the authority for the National Election Commission to verify the data had been counted. Even it refers to the reclamation vote.
Based on Timor-Leste’s constitution allowing CNE to verify for 42 hours. CNE will make any decision to ensure the validation of vote, after the verification data.
It is based on CNE and will provide the announcement on temporary data. CNE also will offer the opportunity for the presidential candidate to give any complaints. There are no more complaints and CNE will submit the data to the Court of Appeals.
He stressed that the data verification ensures the data will be added up and no decision to reduce the data.
“CNE is happing to verify the data. As persons have the right intention to vote for the right candidate, otherwise regarding the health condition and any other reason, the voting is not on target,” He said.
CNE is responsible for working impartially and neutral during the duty and not even taking part in other parts.
“The municipalities have submitted data composed of Aileu, Ainaru, Manufahi, Baukau, Manatutu, Liquiça, and Ermera. The other municipalities are still on the way. RAEOA will arrive tomorrow,” He concluded.
