DILI, 19 may 2022 (TATOLI)- The executive secretary of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), Zacarias Albano da Costa, met with the Prime Minister (PM), Taur Matan Ruak to actualize the work program that has been carried over a year as Executive Secretary of the CPLP.
“I am very honored to be invited to participate in the celebration of the 20th anniversary of Timor-Leste’s independence and at the same time participate in the inauguration of the President-elect José Ramos Horta on May 19 this night, and on this occasion, I came to meet with Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak to actualize the work program that has been implemented and will be done by the CPLP in the future,” CPLP Executive Secretary, Zacarias Albano da Costa told TATOLI today.
The Executive Secretariat informs, that he has served as the Executive Secretary of the CPLP for more than 1 year, therefore, with this official working visit, would like to convey the success that has been achieved together with the State members of CPLP to the Prime Minister of Timor – Leste, Taur Matan Ruak.
“I would like to say that, the CPLP has achieved very positive works. I think we have made great efforts in participating in all CPLP activities because we have the full support of the Government of Timor – Leste and also the full support of State members of CPLP,” said Zacarias.
Zacarias explained that he will take another year of mandate, thus he promise to cooperate with all the CPLP country members for a better future.
Executive CPLP Zacarias added that CPLP has many work programs such in the field of diplomatic policy, health, security, and other related sectors.
“I and Prime Minister Taur Matan Ruak discussed the situation in Cabo Delgado Mozambique which used to have many terrorist attacks, discussed the role of the CPLP in the future, we also discussed health issues where we are all free from Covid-19, discussed international cooperation and support the international community, also discussed the executive role of the CPLP and the coordination of work between members of the CPLP countries to create future economic recovery,” Zacarias concluded.
