DILI, 22 may 2022 (TATOLI) – The Ambassador of India to Timor-Leste and Indonesia, Manoj Kumar Bharti has pledged to take Timorese students to pursue higher education degrees and attend various training, including English Language Training, IT Training, Leadership Course, Rural Development Course, and Journalism Training in Indian Universities.
“Human resource development is part of Timor-Leste-India bilateral relation,” said Indian Ambassador to Timor-Leste and Indonesia, Manoj Kumar Bharti after meeting Timor-Leste’s Charismatic Leader, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, in Dili.
Bharti said lots of people can go to India on scholarship for training in various areas whether it is simply proficiency in the English language, leadership course, English language for IT industry, rural development course, and journalism training.
He said Timorese students can apply and go for higher training in Indian universities: “So, there are 62 different branches in which training is available in India on complete scholarship. Once you are selected, everything including travel to India and coming back, stay in India, and everything is financed by the government of India. The person doesn’t need to pay any money.”
“You just need to go to the Indian website, look for ITEC Scholarship and apply online. If you are selected then no money needs to be paid,” he said.
Bharti said postgraduate and Ph.D. scholarships are also available for Timorese to apply for: “There are a large number of scholarships available and I request Timorese people to look for scholarships on the Indian embassy website. In addition, we required good quality students who have done higher-level courses.”
He reiterated that anyone who has done graduation in Timor-Leste can apply for the scholarship in India through the studying in India program.
“The only thing required is the person has to know basic English. So that, courses could be followed in India and the lectures can be followed in India. And these scholarships along with cultural scholarships like traditional medicine,” Bharti emphasized.
