DILI, 13 June 2022 (TATOLI- Director of Association for People with Disability in Timor – Leste (ADTL) Cezario da Silva, informs that, ADTL realizes the camping for Pwd during one week from 05 june to 11 in Dato Village, Likisa Municipality.
“We realized the camping intending to gather PwD in Timor – Leste to share their experiences regarding the activities that have been involved the PWD and teaching them about the basics leadership skill, violence based on gender, basic of journalistic, civic education, learning how to cook, plays sports together, and also distributing LGBT ‘s materials,” the Director of ADTL, Sezario da Silva, told TATOLI at his office Mascarenhas, Dili on Monday.
da Silva said the camping activity for PWD is very important because PwD can have the opportunity to participate and share life experiences and reflect on past lives and can contribute to the national development in the future.
“This is the first campaign activity, attended by 100 PWD from 12 municipalities including RAEOA. It will be evaluated shortly to be implemented in all Municipalities as a national program for PwD in Timor – Leste,”
This PwD camping program is supported by the Secretary of State of Youth and Sports (SSYS) with a total budget of $21,000 and is also supported by the Australian Government through the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) with a total budged $ 5,000.
“On this occasion, on behalf of ADTL I thanked SSYS and DFAT for their support, we hope that SSYS and DFAT will continue to support the camping program to be continued in other municipalities in Timor – Leste.”
