Prime Minister Ruak off to Singapore for a medical check-up

DILI, 15 june 2022 (TATOLI) – Timorese Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, today, has left for Singapore where he will have a medical check-up at the Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital, the first time in his mandate as Prime Minister since 2017.

The Head of the Government left to seek treatment overseas following the recommendation from his medical specialist at the Guido Valadares National Hospital (HNGV).

During the pandemic time, Prime Minister Ruak has always undergone routine medical check-ups at the HNGV.

“Therefore, medical specialists suggested Prime Minister undergo a medical checkup at the Singaporean Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital to have a better treatment for his health condition,”

Mount Elizabeth Novena Hospital is one of the most advanced and modern hospitals in Singapore, which features more than 250 specialist physicians.

In the absence of the Prime Minister, Vice Minister, Armanda Berta dos Santos would preside over the meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Palace of the Government.

Prime Minister is expected to return to Timor-Leste by the end of this month.
