Serve. I.P admits more than 100 Travel and recruitment agencies registered in DBS

DILI, 29 june 2022 (TATOLI)– Business Registration and Verification Service (SERVE.I.P) recognizes so far more than 100 Travel and Recruitment agencies have registered on the Serve.IP Database System.
Executive Director of Business Registration and Verification Services (SERVE, IP), Florêncio Sanches said there are more than 100 authorized travel and recruitment agencies registered on the server data-based system.
“There are 100 agencies that have effectively carried out their activities, but some of them are inefficient due to the economic crisis,” Sanches told Tatoli, in Hudi Laran, Tuesday.
He explained that SERVE.IP is currently evaluating the registration of data related to the problem of the recruitment process for Timorese who will work abroad, saying that some Timorese working abroad were not found registered in the SERVE database system.
Therefore Sanchez calls on the youth Timorese to identify the legality of the agents through SERVE.IP before traveling abroad:” Some companies or agents have registered as travel agencies which mean they can only offer travel service, while the agents that registered as the recruitment agency can only conduct the recruitment process, However, if the travel agent also carries out the recruitment process, it means the agent has performed dual functions, that has violated the regulation No 34/2017.
Based on government regulation No 34/2017 it allows the agency to conduct recruitment activities but not travel activities or allows the agency to conduct travel activities but without recruitment activity, adding the Agency will be allowed to carry out two economic activities at the same time, if the agency is officially and legally registered its activities on SERVER. “Therefore, it is necessary to distinguish the functions between the two agencies, including travel agents and recruitment agencies,” He said.
Sanchez explained currently the companies that independently employ Timorese to work overseas are not registered in the SERVE database system meanwhile the system only records travel agencies that will only offer travel services.
Sachez also emphasized several criteria from Server that must be fulfilled by the companies during the registration process, including, the rule of the Agency that focus on the purpose of the activity, introduction to company owners, introduction to capital budgeting, company address, and person in charge of business activities.
“These criteria must be fulfilled by the agencies to avoid financial, environmental, and human impacts,” he said.
