More than 100 young Timorese to depart for Israel

DILI, 01 august 2022 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Agriculture and Fisheries (MoAF) together with the Learning Education Program of Timor-Leste (LEP-TL) distributed the Course Completion Certificate in English to 123 young Timorese who were eligible for the Agriculture and Horticulture Training at the Arava International Center for Agriculture Training (AICAT), in Israel, this month.

“Today, we distribute Course Completion Certificate in English to 123 young Timorese who will be departing for Israel to have Agriculture and Horticulture Training at the AICAT,” César José da Cruz, the National Director for Cooperation in Institutional Development of MoAF told TATOLI, at MoAF’s hall, in Dili.

He said the eligible candidates needed to meet the criteria set by Israel’s government: “They must have English Basic Skills and are required to be in good physical and mental health and free from any disease.”

“They have been learning English at the Learning Education Program of Timor -Leste (LEP-TL) for nearly three months,” he said.

Cruz added more than 300 young Timorese had been sent to Israel for the training since early this year, saying the program showed positive progress: “Many of the recipients of this program were directly employed after returning from Israel. While others were self-employed, and many created their own agricultural groups.”

At the same place, the program recipient, Agostinho Camnahas, from RAEOA expressed his contentment with having the opportunity for Agriculture and Horticulture Training in Israel.

“Agriculture in Israel is a highly developed industry. Therefore, we will use the opportunity wisely to learn new knowledge and skills and will implement them in Timor-Leste to develop our beloved country,” he said.
