AHDMTL realizes the fundraising to construct the dormitory in Manufahi

DILI, 21 october 2022 ( TATOLI)– The Association of Visual Impairment of Timor – Leste ( AHDMTL), realized the funding to construct a dormitory in Manufahi Same Municipality, to accommodate people with eye disabled in three municipalities as Manufahi, Ainaro, and Suai, to attend the brille training and other related capacity building training.

Interim Director, AHDMTL, Gabriel de Sousa, said that the fundraising is conducted to collect funds for the construction: “We have been offered land, by the Manufahi Municipal Authority to build a dormitory to accommodate eye disabled from 3 municipalities such as Manufahi, Ainaro, and Suai to provide training on brille letter Portuguese, English and computers courses and other related training, but currently AHDMTL has no funds therefore to realize the construction of the dormitory, AHMDTL realized the fundraising and based on the plan the dormitory will be built in February ,2023,” Interim Director Gabriel de Sousa told reporters in AHDMTL, s office, Manleuana, Dili on friday.

Sousa hopes with the fundraising, everyone will have the awareness to help AHDMTL realize the construction of dormitories to accommodate the eye disabled in three municipalities.

At the same place, the organizing committee, Caceres de Andrade Nunes, informed that this fundraising will be conducted at the office of the State Secretary for Youth and Sports (SSYS), Lecidere, Dili.

“This fundraising activity will be carried out by AHDMTL in SSYS, Lecidere Dili, on Saturday afternoon. This fundraising activity will be realized with several local artists to entertain the audience through musical concerts, traditional dance, culinary exhibitions, and other performances which are prepared by AHDMTL. Hopefully, the visitors can purchase the ticket that was already prepared by the organizing committee,” he said

He said the ticket will cost around $2 to $25, with all the preparation AHDMTL hopes there will be International and local participants to visit the events to help contribute to the Timor-Leste national development.

On this occasion AHMDT thanked the National Commercial Bank of Timor – Leste ( BNCTL) for the donation of $1,000, Caltex company provided $1,200, Bank Rakyat Indonesia (BRI) $50, and Telekom supported AHMDTL for the printing of the ticket.
