Over 30 formers participants of AWE established a cooperative load to help other women entrepreneurs

DILI, 23 november 2022 (TATOLI)- The Academic of Women Entrepreneurship (AWE) training program has benefited 30 Timor Leste female entrepreneurs to initiate the establishment of a savings and loan cooperative.

Agusta Da Silva, president of load cooperatives said after participating in the capacity building program in 2021, the 30 participants establish ​​savings and cooperative expense management involving women entrepreneurs.

“After a weak training program, I gained some knowledge to set up a credit cooperative. This cooperative aims to help other women entrepreneurs who need support for their businesses,” the President of Save Loans, Agusta Da Silva told reporters at ACAIT, Wednesday of his.

Mrs. Silva said her cooperative consists of 30 members adding that each member involved in the cooperative starts from US$100.
“I focused on cafeteria entrepreneurs in 2021, and through the AWE training program I expanded my business activities to restaurants and catering,” he said.

The Queen C-Karau Company, Elsa Da Costa Soares, alumni of the AWE capacity building program, said: “The impact of this program has helped me to grow my restaurant business well,”

“I am also a savings and loan member. Today we don’t hesitate to get financial support to grow our business,” said The Queen C-Karau Company, Elsa Da Costa Soares.

During the training, the US Embassy also provides some financial support to help potential women with USD 1,000 to 2,000.
