Australia Paleontologists awarded Mary Ware Prize 2022 to Isaías Santos Barros

DILI, 25 november 2022 (TATOLI)- Australian Paleontologists awarded Mary Ware Prize 2022 to Isaías Santos Barros for the discovery of new fossils of involution, Trocollina, Stromatolite, and Marine reptiles.

This award was offered by the Australia Paleontolojia international scientific for a newspaper writing, theme “Uppermost Triassic Halstatt like Chepalopode Limestone (Lilu Facies) and Foraminifera’’, the article published in Alcheinga’s media.

According to a statement seen by TATOLI Agency said Isaias Santos Barros a researcher of Petroleum Geology (PGI) carried out research in Lesululi Mountain, Cailaco post-Administrative, and Maliana Municipality.

” The newspaper described the discovery of new fossils which existed in East Gonduwanan Interior Rift Association (EGIRA) as a fossil involution, Trocollina, Stromatolite, and Marine reptile. Those fossils were not discovered by other experts been carried out studies related to Geology since 1800 until now in Timor-Leste,” the statement said.

Isaias Santos Barros is a study stratigraphy team member which is a winner of Australia Paleontolojia international scientific medial writing with the topic “Uppermost Triassic Halstatt like Chepalopode Limestone (Lilu Facies) and Foraminifera, Timor-Leste published in Alcheinga’s media.

Barros, therefore believed that the “award for the best publication for an early carrier research” from “AAP” marked a new history for a scientific carrier for Timorese Scientifics.

It is known that Australia Paleonotogists, (APP) is an Australian Geological Society specialist Group (GSA) that awarded “The Mary Wade Prize 2022,’’ to researchers of the Institute of Geology and Petroleum, Public Institution (IPG.IP)

IPG and AAP acknowledged that this award encouraged more researchers to mode to produce scientific articles and published them in international scientific newspapers relating to geology information in Timor-Leste.

Finally, IPG congratulates the contribution of Isaías Santos Barros to the sincerity vision and mission of the IPS institution in the world.

The institution expressed high appreciation for Prof David W. Haig and Dr. Eujay McCartain the University of Western Australia for their supervision of geology for Timorese youth focus on Timor-Leste stratigraphy.
