DILI, 27 december 2022 (TATOLI) – A consortium of 23 female entrepreneurs from Timor Leste procured three types of “Babadok Express” buses from China worth USD 360 thousand with completely modern technology.
AEMTL President, Hergui Luina Alves said the arrangement of these buses aims to connect Trans-border Transportation between Timor-Leste and Dili to Indonesia “Kupang”.
“We are currently holding two Trans Borders buses called the “Babadok Express”. The bus is already in the process of being transported to Timor-Leste via the Expedition Company and will arrive in January 2023,” AEMTL President, Hergui Luina Alves told reporters at the Ocean Beach restaurant, Tuesday.
Alves said the buses are automobiles with wifi connectivity, containing toilets, food, coffee machines, cool boxes, snacks, rest areas, luggage, full air conditioning, and others.
Alves said, after the arrival of these buses, the operation will begin in january.
“AEMTL will legalize the operation documents and the buses will operate in January 2023. We also recommend to the Minister of Transportation and Communications (MTC) to facilitate Babadok buses to travel via Atambua to Oecusse,”
CCITL, Jorge Manuel Serrano said Timorese women should Think about Business and do business adding that this women’s group is well organized and can invest in cross-border transportation.
“There has been great progress for Timorese women’s groups to invest in the transport sector. As a group of entrepreneurs in Timor-Leste we have the ability to run our business in any sector,” he said
He encouraged the group by saying that Timorese women entrepreneurs had to change their business strategy mentality.
“Women entrepreneurs must not only depend on financial support from the government or development partners but we must change the mentality of our business strategy. Timorese women must have positive points in thinking about business, talking about business, and investing in the business,” he concluded.
