HNGV has sufficient dengue medication to combat the disease in Timor-Leste

DILI, 26 january 2023 ( TATOLI) – Director of Health Environment of the Ministry of Health, Agustinho de Oliveira, said National Hospital Guido Valadares has sufficient medication for the prevention and combat the dengue fever in Timor-Leste. 

” We have 350 Kg of ABATE and 350 litters of Malathion in HNGV, and the amount is estimated to be used for one year,” said the Oliveira at the Evaluation of ALFA Program at the office of National Election Commission ( CNE), Colmera, Dili.

Concerning this issue, Oliveira added that the Ministry of Health is prepared to support the National Hospital and Hospital referral in all municipalities to combat the dengue cases across the Timor – Leste.

“Ministry of Health will support the Health Services in all Municipalities fumigating the area risks of mosquito and also the houses to prevent the dengue disease,” he said.

Meanwhile the Director of Dili Health Municipality, Agustinha Segurado, also informed currently the reserve of ABATE and Malathion is still sufficient to handle the dengue cases in Dili municipality.

“Hopefully with sufficient of ABATE and Malathion will reduce the number of fatalities caused by dengue disease in Timor-Leste,”
