DILI, february 23 (TATOLI)- The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports (SEJD), Abrao Saldanha, assures that Timorese athletes will have great performance at the Sea Games in Cambodia and bring home many medals.
“We assure you that our athletes will perform well in the SEA Games to bring more medals to Timor – Leste,” Abrao told TATOLI in Farol Dili, on thursday.
He said currently SSYS is working with the Sports Confederation of Timor – Leste (CDTL) and the Committee Olympic of Timor – Leste ( CONTL) to focus attention on the situation of the Athletes and make the preparation for the training before leaving for the Sea Games.
“In the preparatory stage, SSYS is supporting the funding of $82,000 for the seven modalities that were set to compete in the 2023 Sea Games in Cambodia. The seventh modality composed of athletics, Taekwondo, boxing, football, bicycle racing, beach volleyball, and karate-do,”
Saldanha also informed that, based on the report, currently the athletes were conducting the preparing training in each place, and in a short time, the athletes will hold the joint training preparations at the Military Police‘s field in Quintal-Boot before leaving for Cambodia to attend the Sea Games within 2023.
