DILI, 27 february 2023 ( TATOLI)– The Boxing trainer from Timor-Leste Amadora Boxing Federation (FBATL), Abilio Orlando dos Santos, informed that currently Timor-Leste beginning to prepare its selection of boxers to join the boxing Regional Sea Games in Cambodia
” We have been preparing for 3 months now and the training preparation has almost reached 100%,” Abilio told reporters at the Colmera Benfica Training Center on monday.
He said the Federation had planned to send athletes to attend the tryout play abroad before competing in the 2023 Sea Games in Cambodia.
He added the boxers had received an invitation from King of the Ring to be held in Sydney which will be held from March 9-11 but at the moment Timor-Leste is yet to decide whether to attend this competition or not.
“We have received an invitation from Australia but we are yet to decide to participate in the games. Around 300 athletes will participate in this game. Timor – Leste wishes to join the other Athletes but depends on the budget and if Timorese decides to join the King of the Ring in Sydney, it will become an opportunity for a tryout,” He said.
The boxers who will compete in the Sea Games are Delio Mouzinho, Elidio da Concecao, Raimundo Galhos, and Dovi Ramos.
Based on the plan, the Timor – Leste Sports Confederation (CDTL) will bring all athletes from seven modalities to carry out the training preparations on 03 March at the Military Police (PM) Headquarters in Quintal Boot, before leaving for the 2023 Sea Games in Cambodia.
