Pelican Paradise will qualify three international contractors for the construction of the mega project

DILI, 27 March 2023 (TATOLI)- Pelican Paradise will fulfill the requirements of three contractors that have applied for the bidding process for the construction of a 5-star Hotel and Resort mega project located in Tasitolu (Dili) and Tibar (Liquiça).

Executive Director of Pelican Paradise, Jeremiah Chan explained, the tender process for the project had been open since September 2022 and ended on February 15, 2023. The Pelican Paradise team itself analyzed every tender proposal from the contractor until the end of March 2023.

“Our bidding process has ended and the analysis process has been completed. In April we will interview three contractors who are a mix of international and national,” explained Jeremiah Chan after receiving the Environmental License Certificate at the National Environmental Licence Authority (ANLA) office, Acait this Monday.

He added, on April 2, the Chairman of Pelican Paradise Group Limited, Datuk Edward Ong himself will come to Timor-Leste to conduct interviews with contractors until April 9, 2023.

A further analysis process will be carried out at the Pelican Paradise Group Limited head office in Singapore for a week starting April 11, 2023.

“After all, if it goes well, we can award contracts to contractors to start the construction process faster and better,” he said.

Jeremiah Chan also thanked the Government of Timor-Leste through ANLA for giving back the Pelican Paradise environmental permit certificate with a validity period of two years as part of the implementation process for the grand 5-star Hotel and Resort project located in Tasitolu (Dili) and Tibar (Liquiça). ).

It said the world-class resort would include hotels, flats, villas, golf courses, tennis courts, youth development centers, clubs, hospitals, shopping centers, and so on.

The first phase of this $700 million mega project is expected to employ around 1,000 East Timorese workers. The resort will cover 550 hectares, from Tasitolu in Dili to Tibar in the municipality of Liquica.

According to data from Trade Invest, Pelican Paradise with the official name Pelican Elior Hotel, Unip. Lda is a Singapore-based company that received a Certificate of Investment (IC) and a Declaration of Benefits from the TL Government in 2018.

The investment cost for the project in Tasitolu itself is stated to be $ 110,000,000.0 where the agreement states that the collaboration between Pelican Paradise and the TL Government has a validity period of up to 2026.
