DILI, 04 april 2023 (TATOLI)— The Pelican Paradise company reports that it will conduct interviews with two local contractors in the process of implementing a magnificent 5-star Hotel and Resort project located in Tasitolu (Dili) and Tibar (Liquiça).
“We will screen two local contractors for interviews, we don’t have enough time to interview all contractors,” explained the Chairman of Pelican Paradise Group Limited, Datuk Edward Ong at the office of the National Accession Secretariat for the World Trade Organization (OPD), monday.
Datuk Edward Ong suggested that his party would try to employ as many young Timorese as possible in implementing the project adding that this would be part of the contribution to the development of HR (Human Resources).
The Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs (MCAE), Joaquim Amaral also revealed that Datuk Edward Ong was coming directly from Singapore to Timor-Leste to directly select national contractors.
“They will interview local contractors and the team will return to Singapore to select international contractors and if this process is completed quickly, the project will start this year,” he added.
Chairman of Pelican Paradise Group Limited, Datuk Edward Ong will conduct interviews with contractors until April 9, 2023. Further analysis will be carried out at Pelican Paradise Group Limited’s main office in Singapore for a week starting april 11, 2023.
Deputy Minister of Justice (MoJ), José Edmundo Caetano said that the Government has provided property for Pelican Paradise to start the investment for five starts hotels and we are here to hear back on the progress.
“Currently we are continuing to work and in the agreement between the Government and Pelican Paradise it has also been agreed that the property is fully leased at a predetermined price,” he said.
