CCI Kupang introduced La Moringa products to CCI-TL

DILI, 17 april 2023 ( TATOLI) – Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, East Nusa Tenggara, Kupang (CCI-Kupang) Bobby Lianto, today together with Kupang NTT -Indonesia Entrepreneurs introduced products which is made by La Moringa to the Timor – Leste Chamber of Commerce and Industry ( CCI – TL) to become the partners in developing La Moringa products in Timor – Leste.

“La Moringa products in Kupang are made from Moringa leaves. Therefore, we see that Timor-Leste has a lot of Moringa trees, so CCI Kupang wishes to partner with CCI- TL to develop Moringa leaves as a food product for consumption to improve the child nutrition in Timor-Leste,” the Chairman of CCI Kupang Bobby Lianto told reporters at the Novo Torismo Hotel, Lecidere Dili, on monday.

Chairman of CCI NTT, Bobby Lianto, explained, La Moringa Product Company was founded by a Joint Venture of Kupang Entrepreneurs in 2019, when the world was facing Covid – 19.

“La Moringa products have been exported to international markets including Timor – Leste, this La Moringa product is the name of a company for Joint Venture entrepreneurs in Kupang, through the La Moringa industry all foods are made from Moringa leaves which are processed into multi-functional foods such as Moringa Biscuits, moringa rice, moringa drinks, moringa tea, and others that have been liked by the consumers in Indonesia, including children,” he said.

He added that Moringa leaves are a multi-functional food and very nutritious food so they can reduce stunting.

Previously in NTT, the stunting rate was more than 30% in 2015, but with the presence of La Moringa products, it has been able to reduce the stunting rate to 17% at this time.

“We hope that the presence of La Moringa products will continue to improve nutrition in Kupang including improving children’s nutrition in Timor-Leste to reduce stunting rates where based on a report from the World Health Organization (WHO) the stunting rate in Timor-Leste is 47% hopefully with the cooperation for the development of Moringa leaves product, Timor – Leste will reduce stunting rates in the future,” he added.

At the same place the President of the Timor – Leste Chamber of Commerce, Jorge Serano, appreciated this courtesy visit saying that Timor-Leste will continue to coordinate with businesses in Timor – Leste to work with NTT ‘s entrepreneurs to invest in food, especially with the La Moringa Industry in Kupang.

“Timor – Leste has a lot of moringa trees, therefore with this opportunity Timor – Leste entrepreneurs will work together to process Moringa leaves into food for consumption in Timor – Leste,” he said.

Serano is committed to following up, on the collaboration and creating a Memorandum of Understanding ( MoU) after the new Government because all cooperation will be held between the two governments.

” We will increase our Cooperation after the new Government ‘s coming, we hope that this cooperation will benefit the people of Timor – Leste to diversify the growth of the economy between the two countries,” he concluded.
