DILI, 03 may 2023 (TATOLI)—The President of the Republic, ( PR) José Ramos Horta expressed his great hopes for Timor-Leste’s athletes who will compete in the XXXII SEA Games in Cambodia to make extraordinary achievements and make the nation proud of the international stage.
President Horta conveyed his hopes to Timor-Leste’s Athletes before leaving for Cambodia, at the Presidential palace, Bairo Pite Dili, on tuesday.
“Athletes should keep the discipline to promote the nation and state in the SEA Games, no matter if you win or lose, but the most important thing is behavior, show good behavior as the ambassador at the SEA GAMES,” President Horta said.
The Secretariat General of the Timor-Leste National Olympic Committee, Laurentino Guterres said, about 103 delegations from Timor-Leste will depart to Cambodia consisting of 90 permanent athletes from the Federation, Taekwondo, Boxing, Volleyball, Soft tennis, E-sport, karate, Football Balls and others.
While the budget spent was coming from the Government Secretary of State for Youth and Sport (SSYS) and the International Federation including CONTL worth $ 147,000.
“Each athlete receives an allowance of $46 per day,” he said.
