DILI, 01 june 2023 (TATOLI)— The government through the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (MCAE) together with the Investment and Export Promotion Agency, I.P (TradeInvest Timor-Leste), participated in a 20-hectare paddy harvest by ACELDA Unipessoal Lda, in Vemase, of Baucau municipality.
According to the official website accessed by Tatoli, it was stated that the harvesting process was carried out by the Government represented by the Coordinating Minister for the Economic, Joaquim Amaral accompanied by the Executive Director of TradeInvest Arcanjo da Silva on tuesday (30/05/2023).
The paddy harvesting was processed in an area of 50 hectares in Vemase, Baucau, with the investment plan from ACELDA Company worth $500,000 for the investment activities in the agricultural sector especially in rice production.
MCAE and TradeInvest Timor-Leste presented a Declaration of Benefit to ACELDA Unipessoal, Lda, on 15 September 2020, to provide access to Customs incentives and tax benefits according to the provisions based on Private Investment Law no.15/2017.
Following the existing investment plan, the company has produced 20 hectares of rice which were planted directly by the Acelda Unipessoal Lda Company at the Vemase.
The company also employs 50 direct workers and 100 indirect workers.
The official harvest ceremony was organized by the Ministry of Agriculture including JICA’s development partners and local authorities in Vemase.
