DILI, 21 june 2023 (TATOLI)- Minister of Finance and the Indonesian Embassy in Timor-Leste agree to send 30 Timorese scholarship students to take IV diploma in two universities of STIS and STAN.
The Finance Minister, Rui Augusto Gomes congratulate 30 scholarship students, who will continue their studies in Indonesia.
“They are going to study Indonesian Higher education Statistics (STIS) and Accounting Higher Education. They will take IV Diploma for the academic years 2023 to 2024,’’ The Finance Minister, Rui Augusto Gomes said in his remarks in the Minister of Finance meeting room, Ai-tarak Laran, Wednesday.
He added that scholarship students will have a great opportunity to focus on finance and statistic. The students will get 40% opportunity for theory and 60% for practicing.
“You will increase your knowledge of learning more about mathematics, economy, demography, statistic calculation, and others. It helps you for data analyzing within professional, integrated and impartial,’’ He explained
These scholarship students will depart to Indonesia and another 11 students will depart to Indonesia after completing their documents.
The Ambassador of Indonesia for Timor-Leste, Okto Dorrinus Manik said this is a great opportunity for the young Timorese people to focus on their studies. This country required more human resources to boost the country development.
“I recommended to 30 Timorese scholarships to study in two universities with good quality, and students must take the opportunity to study hard to ensure everyone is successful,”
So far, this scholarship is offered following the agreement between the Timor-Leste Ministry of Finance, Human Capital Development (FDCH), and the Indonesian Embassy in Dili held last year.
Since the program was established by FDCH, over 80 Timorese completed doctorate degrees, 500 completed their master’s degree and 100 are undergoing their study and 10.000 are attending capacity building in Indonesia.
