DILI, 13 december 2023 (TATOLI) – The Ministry of Education has announced the results of the national examinations for elementary school, junior high school, senior high school, and technical-vocational school, which were announced by the Education Ministry on December 12, 2023, that just over 4% of those who do not pass the national exam in Timor-Leste.
The Minister of Education, Dulce de Jesus, said that the total number of students in the 2023 school year is 56,218; those students who attend the national exams are 55,370, and just 4.3 fail the national exam this year.
With regard to the final year of the third cycle of primary education, of the 28,362 students who took the exam, 26,922 had positive results and 1,440 had negative results, with 334 absences.
For general secondary education, of the 22,700 students enrolled, 364 did not take the exam, 1,320 had negative results, and 21,380 had positive results. As for vocational-technical education, 3,964 registered students obtained positive results.
With regard to Deuteronomy education, according to the Minister of Education, Dulce de Jesus, out of 344 students who took the exam, only seven failed.
So far in the past few years, all students have passed 100% of the national exam, so students do not study well. Hopefully, this policy will motivate students to study harder to ensure the quality of education so that they can contribute to the sustainability of national development in Timor-Leste in the future.
