DILI, 16 december 2023 (TATOLI) – The giant INPEX Corporation of Japan is interested in strengthening cooperation with Timor-Leste in investing in the oil and gas sector.

President and Executive Director of INPEX Corporation Takayuki Ueda said that during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, who was accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy, Tourism, and Environment Francisco Kalbuadi Lay, Deputy Minister for ASEAN Affairs Milena da Costa Rangel, and Timor-Leste’s Ambassador to Japan Ilídio da Costa Ximenes at The Okura Hotel in Yokyo, Japan,.

INPEX Corporation is a giant company in Japan that has a lot of experience conducting oil and gas industry development projects and is currently investing in industry and energy in several developed countries around the world.

INPEX Corporation President Takayuki Ueda thanked the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Gusmão, and his delegation for the opportunity to discuss the future of oil and gas development in Timor-Leste.


“We from the INPEX Corporation team are very honored and grateful for this meeting. INPEX Corporation is a Japanese company that has been exploring and developing oil and gas. This meeting is a golden opportunity because it is the first time to meet with the Prime Minister of Timor-Leste,” said Takayuki Ueda during a meeting with Prime Minister Gusmão and his delegation in Japan, which was accessed by TATOLI on saturday.

The Prime Minister of Timor-Leste, Gusmão, on this occasion thanked INPEX Corporation and invited them to visit Timor-Leste to see directly the situation and conditions in order to invest in Timor-Leste in the future.
